USGS Weekly Update 2008-Mar-28 09:01

RECENT OBSERVATIONS: The crater area continues to remain seismically very quiet. Late-season storms continue to pile up snow and no field work is planned for the near future. Radar imagery aquired by personnel from the Jet Propulsion Laboratory earlier in the week shows that the east and west arms of Crater Glacier are now touching or almost touching just north of the 1980s lava dome. Thus the old and new lava domes in the crater are now encircled by ice.
