USGS Update 2006-Dec-24 09:26

Potential ash hazards: Wind forecasts from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), coupled with eruption models, show that any ash clouds rising above the crater rim today would drift north from low altitude winds and east from high altitude winds early in the day and north-northeast later in the day.

Recent observations: The view from a fixed camera at the crater mouth shows clouds that mostly obscure the mountain. Seismicity continues at rates typical of the past few months. There has been no change in the level of activity in the recent past as slow lava extrusion continues.
